Zelda Takes Over Twitter During The Game Awards, Pachter Applauds Reggie

Earlier this week, we reported that The Game Awards raked in more than two million viewers during its live stream. Interestingly enough, Zelda had the largest presence both on the show and on Twitter. According to a new report, Zelda had 39,000 social mentions on Twitter the day of The Game Awards. This is far higher than it had been performing before the awards show, and it even beat out PSX for the most social mentions.

Nintendo did so well at The Game Awards, in fact, that even Michael Pachter complemented Reggie on his work.

“Microsoft made a mistake skipping The Game Awards altogether. The awards show was an opportunity to steal a little thunder from PSX, and Nintendo and Reggie seized the opportunity. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to compliment Reggie, as I haven’t had many chances to say what a good job he has done in an otherwise dismal year. Nintendo really stood out with that Zelda announcement.”

Do you agree with Pachter on Nintendo’s decision, or should Nintendo have provided details of Zelda at a Nintendo direct instead?
