Nintendo formally revealed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild during a special livestream for E3 2016. Quite a lot of footage has been shown off, highlighting the dozens of new mechanics that the new game has to offer.
One of the big changes that have been made to the formula is the fact that the world is now totally open. With this new approach, many have wondered if the traditional towns/villages that have made appearances in past games would return. None can be seen in any of the E3 demos, but Mr. Aonuma has confirmed that they will indeed be in the final game. Here’s what he had to say:
“I can’t share too much about villages because to tell you how the villages work, they’re interconnected to the story and overall world.”
