What did you play this weekend, enthusiasts?

Playtonic new game tease Yooka-Laylee 3D platformer

Another weekend is behind us, and if you were lucky, you found the time to sink your teeth into a game or two. What did that entail for you? Whether you were knee-deep in the latest release or cruising through your backlog, let’s hear what you got done this weekend.

This weekend, I started up Yooka-Laylee. With the game’s middling reception in mind, I was apprehensive about it at first, but I have been pleasantly surprised thus far. I put in enough time to reach world three (I’m trying to take a quick first pass through each world and unlock all of the moves before I really sink my teeth into any of them). So far, I’ve found that the controls and camera are fine – looks like patches did their job there – and I don’t think that the negative space in each of the levels is a massive issue, yet. I have decent hopes for the rest of the game, though I am still a bit nervous about how well the game can stick the landing.

What did you work on this weekend? Are you playing a brand new game, are you aimlessly managing your village in Animal Crossing: New Horizons in preparation for the new DLC, or are you just doing some good old-fashioned backlogging? Share what you have going on in the comments.
