When I think of some of the earliest indie games I can remember playing, World of Goo always comes to mind. Before we hit the self-publishing indie game renaissance that we’re in now, small-scale releases like the inky puzzle-adventure World of Goo were kind of rare. It’s been a long time since the game debuted, but now it’s getting a new lease on life and a permanent physical edition thanks to the folks at Super Rare Games.
Announced earlier today, Super Rare Games are producing a limited run physical release of the ooey gooey puzzle game World of Goo. Fans who purchase the limited edition physical release will get a standard physical case and cartridge, along with a full-color manual, adorable sticker and 3-card trading card pack. If you opt for the special release of the game, however, you’ll also receive a gorgeous steelbook case and an exclusive full color postcard. Copies will go on sale via the official Super Rare Games website starting February 20.
World of Goo launched on the Nintendo Switch via the eShop on March 16 of 2017. It’s currently available for $14.99, while the standard physical release and special steelbook release will runfor $32 and $52, respectively.
