guide Locations for where to find Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Last fall, Pokémon fans across the internet erupted in a frenzy over the reveal of Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. While these Pokémon are normally Dark type, in Hisui they take on an unusual Normal / Ghost dual-typing due to being shunned into harsh environments by humans, where they later perished. Though this origin story is quite dark, Hisuian Zorua remains as cute as a button, leading trainers to set out in search of adding it to their Pokédex. If you’d like to do the same, here’s a quick guide with locations for where to find Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

In order to find Hisuian Zorua, you’ll first need to have beaten Electrode, Lord of the Hollow to gain access to the Alabaster Icelands. You can find the creature immediately upon gaining entry to this region, though I’d suggest waiting until you have access to Braviary’s flight ability to make farming them quicker and more efficient.

As you explore the Bonechill Wastes subarea, you should stumble across a few holes in the ground. Their locations are marked by the Poké Ball symbols on the map above. These are actually entrances to an underground ice tunnel system. Descend into one of these holes, being careful not to take too much fall damage. As you explore the corridors within, keep an eye out for the dead ends, as it’s here where Zorua spawns.

Zorua is pretty quick to spot you and is aggressive, so sneaking up on it without items is difficult, if not impossible. Instead, enter into a battle with it. You’ll find that it ranges from around level 26 to 29, so you don’t even really need to damage it. Throw a Poké Ball or two and you should be able to secure it no problem.

One major tip to find and hunt Zorua in Pokémon Legends: Arceus that will help fill its Pokédex entry is to loop this route at night. This is because you’ll need to catch 25 Zorua in total, but also 20 at night for perfect information. These tasks double up, so by catching 20 at night, you’ll already have 20 total caught and will only need 5 more. In addition, there are two tasks relating to defeating Zorua in battle. One simply requires you to defeat 10 Zorua in general, while the other requires you to defeat 10 Zorua using Dark moves. Again, these double up, so when repeating this farming process for the battles, bring a high-leveled Pokémon with a Dark move to knock both tasks out at once.

Lastly, once you have a Hisuian Zorua, it doesn’t take much to get its evolution, Zoroark. Zorua evolves at level 30, which conveniently is only a couple levels away from when you catch it. These levels can be easily gained by being in your party after a battle, catching Pokémon, or by using Zorua to gather resources. Once Zorua hits level 30, go into your party and hit X over it to start the evolution process. You will need to defeat some Zoroark for its Pokédex entry as well, and you can find them in the same locations as Zorua, just at a much lower rate. As you progress through the story, you’ll also come across an Alpha Zoroark naturally.

While Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark are initially a bit hidden in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, once you know where and how to perform this farming process as outlined in this guide, you should be able to find and capture a Zorua approximately every 1.5 minutes from the Snowfields Camp.
