Whatcha playing this weekend, enthusiasts?

Battalion Wars 2

The weekend is upon us at last, and for many of us, that means finally sinking our teeth into a game or two. What does that entail for you? Whether you are knee-deep in the latest release or cruising through your backlog, let’s hear what you’ve got planned.

With school right around the corner, I’ve slowed down a lot of my gaming. I’m chipping away at the final hours of Final Fantasy V very slowly. I’ve finally reached the last gauntlet of mini-dungeons, so that’s something, but the game has some incredibly annoying aspects: confusing enemies and puzzles that have completely random powers and solutions, for example. It’s a solid enough game, but I’m very much ready to be done.

On the Nintendo side of things, I’m trying out Battalion Wars 2 soon. I love, love, love the first Battalion Wars, a real-time strategy spin-off of Advance Wars, but I’ve never stuck with its sequel long enough to finish it. Since the game is only nine hours long and comprised of bite-sized missions, it seems like a good fit for the first week or two of the school year.

What are you working on this weekend? Are you playing a brand new game, are you still hopelessly glued to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, or are you just doing some good old-fashioned backlogging? Share what you have going on in the comments.
