What is your favorite Wii game?

The Wii embodies a strange era for Nintendo. For a while, they took over the world. Wii Sports and joyous motion control fun were found in homes all over as millions upon millions of systems were sold. However, with the Wii, Nintendo fell vastly behind its competitors in terms of raw console power, and the dearth in third party support became more obvious than ever. Nintendo had to rely on excellent first-party output and the occasional solid third-party game to keep folks engaged. There are a solid number of classics that got that done. What’s your favorite Wii game?

Xenoblade Chronicles wins by a mile for me. A fantastic JRPG that grips you early on and never really lets go, the game was an absolute delight from start to finish. Following the story, getting to know the characters, cowering in fear against level ninety baddies in the first area, learning the battle system, and exploring one of the coolest settings in video games? Sign me up. Following Xenoblade Chronicles, I have a lot of love for Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel, I was a huge fan of Donkey Kong Country Returns, and I really, really enjoy World of Goo. Ultimately, the system enjoyed quite a fun library.
