Two weeks ago, our first general Nintendo Direct in over a year kicked off with the reveal of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s next pair of newcomers. Leaving their poor Driver Rex behind in Alrest, Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will join the brawl together as a two-in-one fighter. March has come at last, and while we’re itching for the new DLC’s release date, Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai will first give us the full scoop on the Aegis girls this morning, in 30 minutes!
Like previous livestreams, we’ll witness a full 35-minute breakdown of Pyra and Mythra’s movesets, stage, music, lore, and more. Additionally, we’ll likely get details on what’s coming with the pending Version 11.0 update. Per usual, if you have replays you want to save, convert them to video now before they break!
I only hope that I won’t have to wait long before Pyra and Mythra descend from Elysium into the world of Smash. Like ARMS, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 missed the cutoff for fighter representation in the base roster; the games were early in development when Super Smash Bros. Ultimate moved past the planning stage, so crossover content from both titles in the final product was scarce. But hey, I already waited three years since Ultimate was teased to play as anyone from the Xenoblade sequel in it. What’s a few more days?
