pokemon press conference 2019 game freak let's go sword and shield

It’s time to get hyped, Pokémon fans! Yesterday, Game Freak announced two big Pokémon events, and the first one kicks off soon. Ahead of the Sword and Shield Direct on June 5, The Pokémon Company is holding a live press conference tonight. This is an annual event, but it’s usually not live streamed. The fact that it’s being broadcast to the world could indicate that we’re in for some exciting news! We’ll be streaming it live here at Nintendo Enthusiast and providing coverage as the news breaks. Tune in at 6:00 pm Pacific / 9:00 pm Eastern to see it all live!  For our UK viewers, that’s 2:00 am on Wednesday. You can watch the presentation below, and also on Twitch.

Pokémon press conference: What to expect

While the event next week is focused on Sword and Shield, tonight’s event will likely be much more diverse. The official website says that the press conference will “cover a number of topics of interest to Pokémon fans.” That could include Pokémon GO, the upcoming Mewtwo movie remake, the Trading Card Game, and just about anything else. During last year’s event, The Pokémon Company officially revealed Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee. Perhaps a sequel is in the works? Last year’s event also included the reveal of Pokémon Quest and the promise of a “core RPG,” which we now know to be Sword and Shield.
