Waluigi seethes with vengeance in God of War artist realistic depiction

Waluigi in God of War artist Raf Grassetti realistic depiction, Super Smash Bros. Remastered

God of War art director Raf Grassetti has been whipping up realistic interpretations of Super Smash Bros. characters for a while. It’s a series he calls “Super Smash Bros. Remastered.” However, today Grassetti is dreaming of something bigger. He is dreaming of…¬†Waluigi in Smash!

Yes, Waluigi has been notoriously absent in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, much to the rage and disappointment of Waluigi fans globally. I can’t help but feel that Grassetti chose to place all of those same feelings into Waluigi himself in this interpretation of the character.

It’s nice that Grassetti remembered to include Waluigi with his best bud, Wario, too.

In spite of this one large oversight though, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is about to have an even more incredible roster. The Nintendo E3 Direct 2019 revealed that the Hero (in various incarnations) from Dragon Quest is coming to Smash. Plus, incredibly, Banjo-Kazooie is headed to Smash as well! With each passing announcement, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate becomes even more ultimate.

In all honesty, I really don’t expect Waluigi to rank among the remaining announced DLC characters. I suspect they will all be third-party creations. But this just means it will be all the sweeter when the day finally arrives… in 20 years or so.
