Unity now supports the Nintendo Labo VR Kit for Switch

Even if you don’t know much about video game development, chances are you may have seen the name “Unity” more than once while browsing through the Net. That’s because Unity is one of the most popular game engines out there, used by studios both large and small. It’s the backbone of a variety of different games, from platformers to simulators. With versatility like that, it’s no wonder why there’s already a decent amount of Switch games being powered by it. And now, more will be coming.

New digital horizons

Unity has expanded its support on Switch which now includes support for the recently-released Nintendo Labo VR Kit. Since the Toy-Con in the VR Kit each have their own unique abilities, it’ll, of course, be up to each studio to decide what experiences they create.

So far, only the first-party software included in the Labo VR Kit is the only full-scale VR title on the platform. It will be interesting to see how many developers make use of this. Nintendo has yet to provide any numbers on how Labo VR has been selling, so there’s no real way of telling how big the audience currently is. Hopefully that doesn’t stop some creative ideas from coming to fruition.
