Konami seems to have reinvigorated interest in its Castlevania series. Last week, it released the Castlevania Advance Collection, a smattering of titles mostly from the GBA. While we dream of a theoretical DS compilation, Konami decided to celebrate the franchise’s 35th anniversary in a different fashion. A Castlevania music collection is on its way to Japan this December 15. And it spans 26 CDs!
I adore all of Castlevania’s music, from the NES to DS
The tunes will be comprised of two volumes: Castlevania Black and Castlevania Red. Pre-ordering directly from Konami will net you an extra 14-track CD with MIDIs from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, also known as the best game in the series.
Alternatively, fans can pre-order from Play-Asia. Castlevania Black can be nabbed here and Castlevania Red can be procured here. They cost $129.99 each, so if you want both, you are looking to spend around $259.98.
Also, there are some official t-shirts available on Amazon Japan. Some are basic, but others are quite cool.
Enthusiasts, what are your thoughts on the Castlevania music collection? Were you hoping for a vinyl release like me? When do you think Konami will release a DS compendium of games? Let us know your thoughts in the comment field below.
