Trade-in a console toward a Switch at GameStop, get up to $275 off

Nintendo Switch vs Xbox One X vs PS4 Pro

GameStop is offering a pretty sweet deal for anyone looking to pick up a Nintendo Switch to replace another system. If you have another console that you’re not using much, it can be your key to getting a discount on your purchase of a Switch by means of a trade-in.  The eligible systems for trade-in are a PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One (original), Xbox One S, Xbox One X, Wii U, 3DS XL and PS Vita. Basically, any system from the current-generation is fine. But, the amount of the discount is different depending on which of these systems you trade in.

The highest value is the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, which will get you a whopping $275 off. That means you’ll essentially be able to pick up a Switch for just $25. The less powerful Xbox One S and PS4 Slim carry a trade-in value of $225, which is still pretty decent. The trade-in value drops significantly when it comes to the original Xbox One, which is worth $150 off. But, it’s still better than a 3DS XL, Wii U or Vita, which all carry the same value of $100 off. Sure, that’s not as steep of a discount as the PS4 Pro or Xbox One X, but $100 in savings in still nice.

If you’re really willing to sacrifice an entire system in order to get a Switch, then you have just a few days to take advantage of GameStop’s offer. This deal is going to last until September 22, 2018. That’s less than a week from now (as of the time of writing), so definitely jump on the chance if you’re truly interested. You can use the money you saved from the trade-in to get a solid starter collection of games, or maybe even some accessories. Switch Online is about to launch, so perhaps some of the money can also go towards purchasing a membership.
