Totaku making Banjo-Kazooie and Conker figures

The famous platforming mammals will have their own figures made by Totaku. These Conker and Banjo-Kazooie figures will be exclusive to UK retailer, GAME. Although GameStop owns Totaku, so it’s only a matter of time before they announce their release to North American shores. Both Conker and Banjo-Kazooie figures will release on GAME store shelves by the end of the year.

Here you can get a better look at the figures.

The amiibo for everyone else

Totaku figures are basically the amiibo for popular video game characters outside of Nintendo. They can range from Sony IP like God of War and Horizon: Zero Dawn to third-party IP like Sonic, Street Fighter, and unexpectedly Lemmings. More recently they’ve expanded to the “not technically a video game IP but still has video games” category with Yu-Gi-Oh figures.

While they may not be context-sensitive like amiibo, it’s not like Duck Hunt and Mr. Game & Watch have gotten much use either. You certainly wouldn’t get a submachine gun-totting Conker amiibo, that’s for sure. Not even Solid Snake will have realistic weaponry in his amiibo (based on his Smash Ultimate portrait). That’s probably intentional now that I think about it.

With Smash Ultimate including highly requested characters from fans, there’s at least some chance for an official Banjo-Kazooie amiibo. The Xbox Head, Phil Spencer, is still interested in seeing the bear-and-bird duo fight it out with Nintendo’s all-stars. There have been a lot of rumors surrounding character additions, but none I’ve seen on these classic N64 characters. It’s widely believed that if any Microsoft property gets in, it’s the one that’s the 2nd best-selling game of all time, Minecraft. One can hope, whether in the base game or as DLC Banjo and Kazooie will finally get their chance. Maybe Conker can become an assist trophy too.

Do you plan on buying a Banjo-Kazooie or Conker figure? Will you wait it out for a potential amiibo instead?
