The Witcher season 2 is currently in production at Netflix, after being confirmed for release before the first season had even premiered. That first season ended up so popular upon release though that it became the sixth most popular title of 2019 on Netflix within a month. And while season 2 isn’t currently scheduled to air until 2021, it is seeing the addition of several new members to the cast, including Kristofer Hivju, who played Tormund Giantsbane on Game of Thrones.

Firstly though, let’s recount the main cast who is expected to be making a return in the second season of The Witcher. Those returning cast members are as follows:

  • Henry Cavill – Geralt of Rivia
  • Freya Allan – Princess Ciri
  • Anya Chalotra – Yennefer of Vengerberg
  • MyAnna Buring – Tissaia de Vries
  • Mimi Ndiweni – Fringilla Vigo
  • Joey Batey – Jaskier

Next, here are the new faces Netflix has confirmed will be joining the cast in The Witcher season 2. Those new cast members and their roles are as follows:

  • Yasen Atour – Coen
  • Agnes Bjorn – Vereena
  • Paul Bullion – Lambert
  • Kristofer Hivju – Nivellen
  • Thue Ersted Rasmussen – Eskel
  • Aisha Fabienne Ross – Lydia
  • Mecia Simson – Francesca

There is no word on a potential actor for Vesemir yet, though fan site Redanian Intelligence is reporting that Mark Hamill has seriously been considered for the role. And we’ll keep an eye out for if any more Game of Thrones actors show up.
