The Tower of Permanence is a new video game every day on Switch

The Tower of Permanence for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC, Steam Commentout summer 2019 2D action sidescroller new dungeon

The Tower of Permanence, announced to release in Japan this summer for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC, has a pretty interesting gimmick. It’s a 2D sidescrolling action game where a new dungeon is automatically generated every 24 hours, “with different mechanics from the previous day.” Furthermore, it sounds like the previous dungeon will cease to exist. So you’re kind of playing a new video game every day.

The game will feature a competitive aspect of some kind, perhaps via time trial. Different characters will be available to play as too, and there will be a mechanic to leave notes for other players — to either help them or trick them into marching to their doom.

There is no official word from developer Commentout on an international release yet, but you can check out an old gameplay teaser below. And incidentally, in the comments of that very YouTube video, the developer promises to release the game for Steam.
