This week you asked some brilliant questions including… Could Shin\’en be working on a Wii U F-Zero? and what’s happening with Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem?
Head on below to check them out….
Letter Box: Episode 2
Do you think it would be possible that Shin\’en is working on F-Zero for Nintendo?
Andy: A week ago I would of replied saying that I think this could honestly really happen, now I\’m not so sure. If anything this year’s E3 has made me realise it’s safest to never assume Nintendo would do the obvious.
Nintendo were seemingly getting very close with Shin\’en at the launch of the Wii U and massively promoted both Nano Assault Neo and Nano Assault EX. Shin\’en have returned the favour by speaking very highly of the Wii U…
“The Wii U GPU is several generations ahead of the current gen. It allows many things that were not possible on consoles before. If you develop for Wii U you have to take advantage of these possibilities, otherwise your performance is of course limited.”
With regards to what Shin\’en are working on, they have revealed they have two Wii U games in the works, which will be revealed at some point this year. Back in April a fan asked for F-Zero on the Wii U and they replied with \”Don\’t worry, we have something in the works\”. So it sounds like it will at least be something very close if it doesn\’t carry the F-Zero license.
What’s going on with Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem?
Andy: Originally announced back in January in the same Direct that brought us first news of X and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD. Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem is the first collaboration between Atlus and Nintendo’s own Intelligent Systems. There was initial speculation that the game could fall into any genre but Atlus confirmed the following day that it will in fact be a Role Playing game.
As for the status of the game, it is very early in development – so early that Iwata jumped the gun by announcing it. The game is under development now, but was not in a ready state to be shown at E3. It’s probably wise to expect the first gameplay trailer to debut in a Nintendo Direct around the time of the Tokyo Game Show which is in September.
In case you were also wondering, Nintendo has confirmed the game will be localised and released in North America and Europe, but no date has been given.
Rats! I need a downloadable version of the Podcasts. Help?
Andy: Hey fourthreetwo, good question – I want this too! The Podcast producer himself, Mr.Charles \’Cubits\’ Duffield has the answer…
Charles: I\’m looking into securing a proper Soundcloud account, but they\’re not free and I\’m selfish! In the interim, if you use a program like Youtube Downloader you can save the video for offline, or save it as an MP3 for just the audio.
Andy: Thanks Cubits!
