The LEGO Movie 2 videogame is headed to Nintendo Switch

The LEGO Movie 2 Game - TT Games

Everything is awesome!  That includes the reveal that TT Games is bringing The LEGO Movie 2 game to Nintendo Switch. Arthur Parsons of TT Games shared what fans can expect from the upcoming title in a comment provided by Nintendo Life.

“Packed with fan-favourite and exciting new characters, mysterious locations and action from both the sequel and the original blockbuster The LEGO Movie, The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is a wild adventure for kids to explore. Players must scour the stars for rare items, materials and tools to complete their collections and help their journey across the LEGO universe, experiencing a wide array of amazing environments, wacky vehicles and incredible creatures along the way.”

Fans of both TT Games’ LEGO games and the LEGO Movies from Warner Brothers can be excited about this.  The game will surely follow the narrative of it’s accompanying film sequel much in the way that the first game did with the original film.  Here is the synopsis of the upcoming sequel film as provided by the official The LEGO Movie site:

“It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild.  The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.”

About LEGO games

The LEGO games developed by TT Games Studios are well known for following a particular formula. The games generally feature linear (some have open-world elements) platforming adventures in the worlds of several different franchises.  Players control LEGO characters from a given franchise to fight enemies and solve puzzles in order to progress – many times by building LEGO constructs. Additionally, the games offer great drop-in multiplayer fun for any potential second player to aid in the quest.

While many might argue that the LEGO games are always the same thing, it’s always easy to know what you are getting when purchasing a LEGO title. Playing through worlds of other franchises with the LEGO games formula is always a fun, easy-going affair.
