The Game Awards 2021 arrives in December as an in-person event

The Game Awards new reveal 2021

Geoff Keighley’s annual show, The Game Awards, will be returning as an in-person event in December. The celebration of 2021’s amazing games will take place on December 9, 2021 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Just like with past events, The Game Awards 2021 will be livestreamed across the world on major online platforms. This time around, the event will be invite-only, with the show’s organizers planning on revealing health and safety regulations closer to the date. We can probably expect reveals for upcoming games, trailers for already announced titles, and much more. It will be interesting to see how this year’s show pans out, as last year saw a digital-only event.

Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II managed to take home seven awards, including Game of the Year, during The Game Awards 2020. So far, we’ve seen a variety of notable contenders that could potentially be nominated. From a Nintendo fan’s perspective, hopefully Metroid Dread will live up to our expectations and find itself nominated for Game of the Year. 2021 has seen a lot of worthy contenders, with my personal favorite being Resident Evil Village.

Expect to see more information about The Game Awards 2021 in the next few weeks, with contenders likely to be revealed sometime in November. What would you like to see during this year’s The Game Awards?
