It’s that time of year, Nintendo-lovers! Nintendo is getting ready to air a livestream presentation full of Switch reveals, a format they popularized many years ago now. Fans have been eager to hear more from the Big N since the start of the new year, and they’ll finally get their chance tomorrow. Nintendo announced via Twitter that the first Nintendo Direct of 2022 will kick off on February 9 at 2:00 pm Pacific /5:00 pm Eastern. That’s 10:00 pm for our readers in the UK.
First Nintendo Direct of 2022
The last Nintendo Direct we received was an Animal Crossing-focused presentation in October. Prior to that, Nintendo had a more general Direct last September that included surprise reveals like Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Nintendo 64 and Genesis games for Nintendo Switch Online. Like that Direct, tomorrow’s show will last for a whopping 40 minutes. That’s a similar size to Nintendo’s E3 shows, so it should be pretty packed. The presentation will focus on games that will release on Nintendo Switch in the first half of 2022.
So what should we expect to see in our first Nintendo Direct of 2022? I think it’s basically a given that Kirby will be there since Forgotten Land launches in March. Triangle Strategy is also scheduled for a March release, while Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is slated for “Spring.” There’s also Splatoon 3, which only has a vague 2022 release date. Whatever they show off, we’ll be covering it live here at Nintendo Enthusiast, so tune in tomorrow!
