Last fall, indie team Thunder Lotus Games released Spiritfarer to critical acclaim. This “cozy management game about dying” resonated with players, touching them with its emotional and often somber themes. If you’d like to know more about how it came together, we’ve got news! The Escapist, one of our sister sites at the Enthusiast Gaming network, just released The Making of Spiritfarer documentary on YouTube! It premieres today, July 19, at 11:00 a.m. Pacific / 2:00 p.m. Eastern. You can check it out by clicking below!

About the game
Spiritfarer challenges its players to ask the question “What will you leave behind?” You play as Stella, a ferry master to the deceased. Build a boat to explore the world: Farm, mine, fish, harvest, cook, and craft your way across mystical seas as you befriend spirits. Spend relaxing quality time with your spirit passengers, create lasting memories, and, ultimately, learn how to say goodbye to your cherished friends.
The Escapist originally planned to cover the development of Spiritfarer in a 20-minute mini-documentary. However, in talking with the team at Thunder Lotus Games, they came up with so much material that they ended up with a 50-minute feature! Learn all about the development of this emotional game while you enjoy an original soundtrack by James Elsey.
