The rumors awaken: Sound editor teases production of new LEGO Star Wars video game

Star Wars Celebration may have ended but rumors are a 24/7 business. During the event, Skywalker Sound editor Matt Wood let slip that 2019 will be the year a new LEGO Star Wars title launches. He teases it at the end of the clip embedded below:

Matt did not announce platforms but hopefully, Switch is a given.

Curiously, the footage shown isn’t the only tidbit gamers have to snack on…

I sense the rise of an entire legend

According to contacts who spoke to Eurogamer, the game Matt references is more than just a collection of LEGO titles based on The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. In fact, the upcoming computer game could “tell the story of the entire saga.” That’s nine titles in one massive collection. Think of all the wars among the stars one can have with a compilation like that!

Hopefully, the hearsay is true. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens launched on the underwhelming Wii U back in 2016, while LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga was first playable on Wii in 2007. It would be beneficial to Switch owners everywhere to have the complete story available in one place. After all, we only have Star Wars Pinball to satisfy any of our space battle needs at the moment.

However, what in God’s name are the developers going to call this assortment of games? They already used The Complete Saga. Perhaps it will be LEGO Star Wars: The Most Complete Saga Available At This Point In Time. Super catchy.
