The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is one of the games Nintendo has placed front-and-center in their E3 booth at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Being a remake of the original Game Boy game, it tells the stories of Link on the isle of Koholint. Alongside a playable demo of the hotly anticipated remake, four gorgeous dioramas that represent the game’s toyish art style were also present.
Link’s Awakening, made real
Without further ado, here are some photos of the various displays.
This photo depicts Marin on the beaches of Koholint encountering Link.
And here’s a bigger photo that shows the entire beach, including some hidden treasure. There’s also an enemy crab!
Here’s BowWow, the pet Chain Chomp of Madame MeowMeow. Behind BowWow, we can Madame MeowMeow’s humble home and some tall grass just begging for Link to cut it down.
Link faces off against an Octorok on the top of a mountain. Notice the details on the ladder and surrounding flora. As well, you can see a pig warrior enemy in the background and a forested area.
Here’s another photograph that portrays more of the faithfully sculpted overworld of Link’s Awakening.
Here’s a shot of Link facing against the grim-creeper enemy in a dungeon.
Lastly, here’s a photo of Link adventuring in Mabe Village, the main town in Link’s Awakening. You can also see the Weathercock used to solve the Flying Rooster puzzle and a Mutt in the photo.
