Sword and Shield: Pokémon Camp tent color guide

Pokemon Sword and Shield guide tent colors Pokemon Camp

Pokémon Sword and Shield introduced a new feature called Pokémon Camp. While out on your adventure, you can pitch a tent and enjoy some quality time playing with your companions and cooking curry. If you’re a fan of customization, you’ll be happy to know that you can change the color of your tent. You’ll be less happy to know that swapping tent colors out is somewhat of a convoluted and unnecessarily tedious process. Fortunately, we’ve got a guide!

You’d think it would be as simple as selecting your preferred color and maybe having to pay for it, but that’s not how it works. Instead, you need to talk to a specific person in the Wild Area and show them one of your Pokémon. This Tent Master will then offer to change your tent to a color based on one of that Pokémon’s types. For example, showing him a Charizard will give you the “Fire” and “Flying” tent options. However, it’s not always obvious what color a certain type will yield. Frankly, it’s a bit of a pain to go through and check each type. So we’ve put together a handy guide so that you don’t have to!

You can find the Tent Master (pictured above) just to the left of the entrance to Motostoke City in the Wild Area. He’ll inspect whichever Pokémon is first in your party, so make sure to have the right one selected. To determine which type of Pokémon you need, you can consult the color chart (courtesy of @KellyTheEditor) below. We’ve done our best to pinpoint the correct colors from screenshots, but keep in mind there may be slight differences due to variations in light and shadow.

We’ve also taken screenshots of each different tent color as seen at the end of the Pokémon Camp curry-cooking mini-game. As previously mentioned, there may be a slight difference in what you see in your game depending on the lighting and your screen of choice. That said, you can peruse all the different options below.
