Switch sells out at My Nintendo Store Japan due to coronavirus scare

Nintendo Co. Ltd. (Nintendo of Japan) announced just a few days ago that shipments of Nintendo Switch hardware to Japan would be notably low due to the coronavirus outbreak over in China. Production in the country has slowed down due to workers needing to take extra precautions to avoid getting infected. The news of this slowed production seems to have sent Japanese consumers into a bit of a frenzy, as Switch stock over at the official My Nintendo Japan store has been totally depleted just days after the news broke.

Seeing that a cure for coronavirus has unfortunately not yet been created, the outbreak will continue to wreak havoc primarily in China for an unspecified amount of time. Many other companies have been affected by the outbreak, not just Nintendo.
