The Nintendo Switch has received a revision and a new edition to its family within the near three years that it has been on the market. Despite it collecting a bit of age at this point, Nintendo has not really been all that flexible with the price from an MSRP standpoint. That’s mostly left individual retailers to decide upon themselves when and how they want to go about initiating price drops for the system. That’s exactly what’s happening right now on eBay where an authorized seller of new, “red-box” Switch units is offering purchase of a new system at a small discount of $270.
This discount is only $30 off the MSRP of $300, but that’s enough to nab a few indie games, a cheap accessory, or an AAA-title that happens to be on sale. You can also even use the extra cash for a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Whichever the case, some money is better than none at all.
It’s not clear exactly how long this deal is going to be active, though it might end up being a ”while supplies last” sort-of-affair. Remember, this purchase is of a revised, neon-colored Switch bundle which includes the new model that sports better battery life over the original launch edition thanks to an improved Nvidia Tegra chipset. That said, even if you’re not able to take advantage of this specific deal if you find yourself shopping for a flagship Switch at any point in the future, make sure it’s this red-box version.
