Switch: ‘FIFA 18’ Runs At 60FPS When Docked & In Handheld Mode

Although the Nintendo Switch is a weaker console than the Xbox One and Playstation 4, that didn’t stop EA from optimizing it for the platform. Producer Andrei Lazarescu had this to say regarding the game’s performance at Gamescom 2017:

We spent a lot of time actually understanding what the console is. In dock, what we’re seeing right now, for example, is 1080p run running at 60 frames per second. When you plug out and you play in handheld it’s 720p. We spent a lot of time making sure that transition happens seamlessly and you still get 60 frames per second.”

As someone who got his hands on FIFA 18 at E3, I can confirm from first-hand experience. The title is seemeless in both handheld and docked mode, and visually comparable to the other console versions.

Will you be picking up FIFA 18 on Switch? The game will be released on September 29.
