Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is getting Age of Calamity spirits this week

Smash Ultimate Age of Calamity

We’re a few months on from the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity launch, and the Koei Tecmo sequel is getting its hands on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as far as spirits go anyway. No, it’s not quite a fighter addition or something that substantial, but the Zelda spin-off is getting some themed spirits in Smash Ultimate.

It looks like at least three spirits will be added with the event, which begins on Jan. 8. The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Japan Twitter account has been profiling the spirits, which include Young Impa, Terrako, and Koga. The event runs for five days in total, giving you a decent chance to get hold of the spirits.

The Age of Calamity event is the second of the year for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. A short event ran recently allowing players to earn sought-after spirits previously present in the game, but players will be happy to see brand new spirits now arrive in the game.

It’s been quite the success story for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. The sequel to Hyrule Warriors has received a lot more fanfare than the original, benefitting from a tight-knit link with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It’s now getting events in other Nintendo IP, further solidifying it as a genuine Zelda title.

The Age of Calamity event goes live Jan. 8 in Smash Ultimate.
