Super Rare Games has revealed limited physical Nintendo Switch versions for Abzu from Giant Squid Studios and 505 Games, Deponia Collection from Daedalic Entertainment, Inmost from Hidden Layer Games and Chucklefish, Super Crush KO from Vertex Pop, and Vigil: The Longest Night from Glass Heart Games and Neon Doctrine. These five games will be releasing throughout 2021 with most of the release dates to be revealed later. However, Abzu specifically will be for sale physically on Nintendo Switch at the Super Rare Games website on April 29 at 6 p.m. GMT / 2 p.m. ET.
Super Rare Games also assures that it has more Nintendo Switch physical releases where these five came from arriving this year.
Abzu is a deep-sea-diving adventure that enjoyed a positive critical reception, and if Giant Squid sounds at all familiar to you, it’s likely because it’s the developer that recently released The Pathless as a PlayStation 5 launch title (also released on PlayStation 4 and mobile).
Deponia Collection itself comprises four wacky, puzzle-filled adventure games, including Deponia, Chaos on Deponia, Goodbye Deponia, and Deponia Doomsday, making this a pretty cool get for Super Rare Games as a physical release. It adds up to more than 50 hours of gameplay.
Inmost is an action adventure platformer with a distinct pixel art style that fared pretty well critically. It clocks in at a bite-sized 3-5 hours according to Super Rare.
Super Crush KO is a “fast-paced brawler” about running around the city beating up everything in sight, and it all occurs with a breezy pastel art style. Anything with a Sailor Moon vibe is AOK in my book.
Finally, Vigil: The Longest Night is an action RPG inspired by Castlevania and Salt and Sanctuary. That alone should be enough to let you know what you’re getting into.
With Super Rare Games bringing physical releases of Abzu, Deponia Collection, Inmost, Super Crush KO, and Vigil: The Longest Night to Nintendo Switch, collectors have plenty to keep an eye out for this year.
