A new Sega game called Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania has been rated for Australia by Australian Classification for unannounced platforms. It is rated PG for “mild violence” and “online interactivity,” and that is all the extremely vague information we have on the game right now.
Sega has not made any official announcements about a Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania yet. The most recent entry in the long-running ball-rolling franchise is Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD, which launched in 2019 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It was an HD remaster of a 2006 Wii title. Prior to that, the series had seen sporadic new entries on assorted platforms. The Super Monkey Ball franchise famously began life as a GameCube launch title (well, after coming to Japanese arcades, anyway) from Toshihiro Nagoshi, who would go on to create the Yakuza series.
Nintendo Switch seems like a safe bet for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania, considering series history and considering how Switch is an almost preposterously successful console. If you like balls, monkeys, and the conjunction of the two, then good things are likely in your future.
Let us know what you’re hoping for from Banana Mania until Sega finally spills the beans.
