Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD gets bananas in new trailer

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD gets new English trailer

Sega is definitely pulling out all the stops with advertising the latest entry in their acclaimed Super Monkey Ball series. After a slightly bizarre live-action commercial dropped, Sega has now put out a new  English overview trailer for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD ahead of the game’s release on Oct. 29.

The trailer features some adorable English narration walking us through the various features and new additions to Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD. We get a great look at the updated visuals for some of the 100+ stages set to be featured in the game. Super Monkey Ball has always been a series with a strong aesthetic, but something about seeing the ball-rolling action rendered in crisp HD with sharp lighting and textures really gets me excited.

There’s a new Time Attack Mode that lets you hunt for the best time on each stage, along with a leaderboard system to show off your impressive Monkey Ball-ing skills. Need to take a break from rolling around and collecting bananas? There are 10 madcap party games included in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD that provide a wacky variety of new activities to take part in. Best of all, these party games support up to four players taking part in the mayhem at once.

There are six playable characters featured in this trailer, but eagle-eyed viewers might also spot a locked seventh character slot. It was recently reported that none other than Sonic the Hedgehog has been added to the game as a special unlockable character. There are even hints of new unlockable costumes being included in this version of the game.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD is set to launch for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on Oct. 29, with a PC release via Steam arriving at a later date.
