Last week, news finally dropped about the much rumored 3D Mario collection on Switch. Three classic 3D Mario games are coming to Switch on Sept. 18, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. Alongside the reveal, it was announced that Super Mario 3D All-Stars will contain a music player to (as expected) listen to the game’s music. Now, Nintendo has offered a little more on the feature.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars will contain over 170 songs in its music player. These tracks are plucked from the soundtrack of all three games. Honestly, I never realized Mario games had so many individual tracks! Nothing else has been discussed about the music player, but it would be nice if it allowed for things like custom playlists to mix and match songs from the three Mario titles included.

Enhancements coming to the games themselves include HD resolutions and widescreen support for Super Mario Sunshine. All three games in Super Mario 3D All-Stars have seen slight alterations to the visual presentation too, but these are clearly remasters and not remakes. It would have been nice to at least see widescreen support for Super Mario 64, but Nintendo has opted to display the game as it was on Nintendo 64.

Are there any other bonus features you’d have liked to see, alongside the soundtrack, in Super Mario 3D All-Stars?
