Summer Games Done Quick 2021 will take place in July as an online event

Summer Games Done Quick 2021

Games Done Quick (GDQ) has revealed information about Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) 2021, which will be taking place online again this year. SGDQ 2021 Online will occur July 4 – 11 and will be providing the usual week-long charity speedrunning event we all know and love. Runners will be able to submit their runs from tomorrow, March 31, at 11:59 p.m. EDT until April 11.

The speedrunning event converted to an online format starting with SGDQ 2020 (and the organizers did Corona Relief Done Quick before that) because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and has continued on as such ever since. This will be the third major online GDQ event. Hopefully Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ), which usually takes place in January, will see the return of a live, in-person event.

It will be interesting to see what kinds of games will be featured this time around. Over the years, Games Done Quick has showcased games that you wouldn’t normally see streamed on Twitch. We also have major titles that have released since AGDQ 2021, such as Monster Hunter Rise, Bravely Default II, and more. There is a chance that we might see some of these games, but it depends on how active the speedrunning community is for these titles and how quickly they can break them.

Summer Games Done Quick 2021 will take place from July 4 – 11 and will be streamed live on its official Twitch channel.
