Fury upgrade: Streets of Rage 4 receives patch while celebrating milestone

Streets of Rage 4

Streets of Rage 4 has been out for a few months but people are still applying their knuckles to ruffians’ faces. The beat ’em up has made quite a comeback, which will hopefully lead to a revitalization of the genre. Not content to just rest on its laurels, developer/publisher DotEmu provided a patch to the game that includes a whopping 80 updates, bug fixes, and balance changes, many of which came about due to community testing. The title also commemorated a download breakthrough.

I’m still waiting for my super special edition of Streets of Rage 4 from Limited Run

Some of the updates hitting Streets of Rage 4 include faster movement speed, bigger hurtboxes, and reworked boss fights. A full list of all the amendments is detailed at DotEmu’s website.

The CEO of the company had these words to share with fans:

We couldn’t be happier with the reception of Streets of Rage 4. We thank the fans who have supported the game from day one – a lot of the updates in the patch enhance the replay value for folks who have been with us from the start, additional updates are currently in production and we’ll have more to share on that soon.

With regard to the achievement, Streets of Rage 4 has been downloaded more than 1.5 million times. That’s a lot of vigilante justice!
