XSEED Games and Marvelous will release Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town on Nintendo Switch physically and digitally on July 14 in North America. It was previously announced to release on July 10 in Europe and Australia. This title has been deeply anticipated by the old Harvest Moon faithful, since it remakes Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town from Game Boy Advance (and also More Friends of Mineral Town). When you take GBA Harvest Moon and put a fresh coat of paint on it, you have an instant winner, it seems.
A launch date announcement trailer showcases all the activities that are in store for Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town.
If you preorder the physical edition of the game when it becomes available, you will get a “Strawberry Cow Pocket Plush” (below). Those who preorder digitally when it becomes available will receive a Cow Costume (up top), and it will also be available to purchase separately for $1.99. Plenty of people will surely take advantage of these offers based off their GBA Harvest Moon nostalgia alone.
At the start of the month, XSEED Games explained in a blog post about localization that the Western release of Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town will allow for same-sex marriage, a welcome change.
The wait for that July release date isn’t bad at all, though some people may have to decide between getting this or Paper Mario: The Origami King at launch.
