Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town fan art contest revealed Fanworks Contest XSEED Games

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is out now on Nintendo Switch and PC, and XSEED Games is launching a contest to coincide with the release. The competition, dubbed the “Fanworks Contest,” asks fans of the series to submit up to three fan art submissions for three different categories. These are The Dating Pool, highlighting your favorite marriage candidates; Barnyard Buddies, for showing off fuzzy and feathered friends; and Around the Farm, a category taking submissions for anything Story of Seasons-related.

Rewards for winning submissions are a Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town prize pack. What exactly is in the pack hasn’t been shared, but we’d expect a merchandise pack or something of the sort. Both digital and physical artwork submissions will be accepted, as long as the artwork can be shown as a static image. Physical media such as papercraft, needlepoint, plushies, and other crafts are also accepted through digital photo submission.

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is an expanded remake of the Game Boy Advance Harvest Moon game, and we happened to enjoy it quite a bit. The game is available on the eShop now for $49.99, alongside a selection of Animal Costume DLC items at $2 a pop.  Hikaru Nakano, Story of Seasons director, had this to say about the remake:

I’m delighted to welcome western Story of Seasons fans to Mineral Town today. It’s been a long wait and we’re so happy to finally share this very special installment of the Bokujo series with both PC and Nintendo Switch players. We dedicated a lot of energy towards including updates and additions that fans, new, or returning will enjoy and hope they’ll be living their best farm life soon!”

If you’re interested in the Fanworks Contest, check out the submission form. You have from July 14 through Aug. 14 to submit any Story of Seasons fan art.
