Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone, also known as ConcernedApe, has announced that Stardew Valley: The Board Game is available now after more than two years of developing it. He created it in partnership with board game designer Cole Medeiros, whom he met and began discussing the idea of a board game with back in 2018. Stardew Valley: The Board Game is notably a cooperative board game for 1-4 players ages 13 and up, with the game lasting “about 45 minutes per player;” game length can be tweaked if desired, but the website outright warns you not to buy it if you’re looking for a quicker game to play. The game costs $55 and currently only ships within the United States, but they are seeking to expand where the game is available.

Stardew Valley: The Board Game is apparently a faithful conversion of the farming sim that its fans know and love, and the players’ goal is to “restore the Valley” by growing crops, raising animals, expanding the farm, and befriending neighbors to “earn hearts that allow them to reveal hidden goals.” If you play your figurative or literal cards right, you might save the Valley from the Joja Corporation. Give the trailer a watch below, and then decide if it’s worth $55 to translate your Stardew Valley addiction into a tangible physical form.
