Stardew Valley developer unsure on the future beyond update 1.5

Stardew Valley update 1.5 concernedape eric barone future of game uncertain

Stardew Valley has been slowly ticking away since its meteoric rise a few years ago. Developer Eric Barone, or ConcernedApe, has implemented a number of updates since launch and is currently working away Stardew Valley update 1.5. However, in a recent interview with Game Informer, the developer is unsure on what comes after the next update.

To sum it up, Barone doesn’t really know what the future holds. For now, he is dedicated to getting update 1.5 wrapped up before assessing his options. The developer says that he doesn’t think it’ll be the end for the game, but what form the future takes remains unknown. “I would not be surprised if there’s another Stardew Valley update, or multiple updates, or a Stardew Valley 2. Who knows? There’s isn’t currently a Stardew Valley 2; after 1.5, I’ll decide what the next step for Stardew Valley is.”

Stardew Valley update 1.5 will let players move beds

Update 1.5 has been long in the works. Last month, Barone teased one new feature coming that fans seemed excited about: Player beds will be movable in Stardew Valley after the next update, allowing players to go further with interior design. In July, the developer stated that he was still deep in development on this latest update, which adds “a significant new piece of end-game content” and more.

Stardew Valley is also coming to retail for Switch and PC on Nov. 6.
