Eric Barone, also known as ConcernedApe, has casually broadcast that the massive Stardew Valley 1.5 update should be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox today. This update came to PC first in December 2020, but now it’s everyone else’s turn to get all dewed up. Stardew Valley 1.5 adds a ridiculous amount of content and fixes, so you can scroll through the patch notes if you want to absorb every last detail before you get to playing it yourself on Switch. In fact, I would even recommend it, as there’s just too much to summarize adequately.
The Stardew Valley 1.5 Update for Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation are out, and should be available on all platforms within the next couple of hours.

Among other things, Stardew Valley 1.5 on Switch will bring Ginger Island, a brand new region that includes “new locations, dialogue, events, minigames, puzzles, and a quest line involving multiple NPCs,” such as new NPC Leo with his storyline. Birdie, Gourmand Frog, and Professor Snail also join as secondary NPCs. There is a new volcano dungeon that changes each time you visit it, Qi challenges that unlock special items, an unlockable island farm and farmhouse area, an unlockable resort, and 10 new enemies like the Dwarvish Sentry.
That really only just barely scratches the surface of the update though. There are also tons of new items, fish, clothes, furniture, and more. So grab the update and dive on in.
