After months and months of rumors, Spyro Reignited Trilogy was finally and unceremoniously revealed for Nintendo Switch at E3 2019. Now, that September 3rd release date is almost upon us, with the preload for the game going live today. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy Switch file size is listed at 6.3 GB. This is impressively small, considering that the same game on PS4 came to be over 67.5 GB after day one patches were installed. This means that the Switch version is less than a tenth of the size of its PS4 counterpart.
I am incredibly interested in how this was pulled off. Perhaps by sacrificing a few detailed textures or some audio, or perhaps the minds over at Toys For Bob have just become masters of optimization. Maybe the listing is a mistake, but honestly, I do not think this is that likely, especially when you consider other recent Switch games by Toys For Bob.
When not taken in comparison with the PS4 version, the Spyro: Reignited Trilogy Switch file size is not that hard to believe, as it is fairly in line with the Switch sizes for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, which both clock in at 5.3 GB.
Are you ready for Spyro Reignited Trilogy on Switch? Will you be preordering it? Which game are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments.
