SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated will launch on Switch and other systems on June 23. Debunking previous official Nintendo materials that had pointed to a May debut, the release date reveal comes alongside a new “pre-hydrated” trailer from THQ Nordiq. The video shows off a few quick new looks at Battle for Bikini Bottom‘s single-player adventure and PvE arena multiplayer battles. Give it a watch below.
THQ Nordiq also dropped a brand new look at the SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated Shiny Edition. It’s basically a thirty-second sizzle reel showing off the contents of the collector’s edition: a fancy statue, a pair of tennis socks, a special case, and a few art prints and wallstickers.
The Shiny Edition runs $150, but if that somehow doesn’t satiate your SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom appetite, you could also check out the absurd $300 F.U.N. Edition, which adds two statues (bringing the total up to one each for SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy) and some Tiki keyrings to the Shiny Edition. That doesn’t really sound worth it to me, but I’m sure some SpongeBob fanatics out there have already dropped a Switch’s worth of cash on these fancy statues.
