It’s Nintendo Direct time! And they’ve given us information on one of my most anticipated new games – Splatoon 3. Salmon Run was the co-op mode in Splatoon 2 where the team needed to collect fish eggs to earn money while fending the gilled goons. Now the fish will have their revenge in Salmon Run Next Wave. You can check out the trailer here:
Bosses will include the aptly named Fish Stick and the foul Flipper-Flopper. These adversaries will prove to be much more troublesome than dodgy sushi, and I can see this mode becoming a favorite part of the series. While the competitive mode is what the series is all about, I’ve greatly enjoyed other ways of playing Splatoon, and I’m looking forward to learning new team strategies for Salmon Run Next Wave in Splatoon 3. I’m also very interested in the giant kaiju Salmonid.
There hasn’t been too much announced announced for Splatoon 3 so far, and the slow drip of information only serves to hype the game further. I’m sure we’ll find out more about the game when it drops this summer. Will you be picking up the next Splatoon? Looking forward to filet de Godzilla? Until then, stay fresh and don’t get cooked!
