Sonic the Hedgehog collab coming to Monster Hunter Rise in November

Capcom has revealed in its Japanese Monster Hunter Rise Twitter account that a Sonic the Hedgehog collab is coming to Monster Hunter Rise this month. The collaboration is part of Sonic’s ongoing 30th anniversary celebration in 2021.

Here’s the announcement tweet from Capcom:

Monster Hunter Rise is collaborating with Sega’s Sonic, which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year!

The collaboration event quest is planned for release in November 2021!

Those of you interested, please look forward to a follow-up report for more details.

Capcom also posted the news on its official website, but it essentially says the same thing and to wait for more information coming soon. While this Sonic the Hedgehog collab is a first for Monster Hunter Rise, it won’t be the first for Sonic and Monster Hunter. The last time Sonic the Hedgehog was in MonHun was for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on Nintendo 3DS. The collaboration brought Sonic along with Super Mario as Palico costumes as part of a free DLC pack. Let’s just hope that it won’t be as creepy of a Sonic outfit this time.

On the topic of collaborations, we previously got Rush from Mega Man 11 as part of the Capcom Collab #4. Since the Monster Hunter Rise x Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration doesn’t appear to be a Capcom Collab, we’ll get something else for #5 sometime this fall.

Monster Hunter Rise is immediately available for the Nintendo Switch. The PC version will arrive on January 12, 2022, but it will not have cross-play or cross-save with the Switch version.
