After starting principal photography in mid-March, the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has wrapped filming. This news comes from the director himself, Jeff Fowler. Check out the tweet below commemorating the accomplishment.

Of course, while no more cameras need to roll, there’s still plenty of work to be done with Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The film will need plenty of editing and CGI effects – such as, you know, Sonic himself. In the meantime, though, we already know a little bit about the movie thanks to trademark and copyright information. As such, we’ve got at least a few details to get excited for while we wait for the movie to finally hit the big screen.
Following the immense financial success of the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie, Paramount no doubt has high expectations for the sequel. We’ll have to wait and see if it can match – and maybe even surpass – the performance of the original.
Have you seen the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie? What did you think? Did it leave you excited for the sequel? If you (like me) haven’t seen the movie, you can check it out on Hulu, just as I plan to do before Sonic the Hedgehog 2 hits theaters.
