SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters’ Clash is abruptly on Switch eShop

SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters Clash Nintendo Switch eShop out now both versions Neo Geo Pocket Color 1999 game port

The Neo Geo Pocket Color library continues to make its way to Nintendo Switch, this time in abrupt fashion, as card-battling game SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters’ Clash is suddenly out now on the eShop for $7.99. This is a port of the 1999 game that encompasses both versions of the original release: the SNK Cardfighter’s Version and Capcom Cardfighter’s Version, but each version has its own save data. However, you can also trade between the two versions and even use the separate save data to have them battle each other, which is an excellent touch. You can additionally choose to play in English or Japanese (with more separate save data).

There are 300 cards total to collect in SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters’ Clash on Switch, featuring assorted icons from SNK and Capcom franchises like Terry, Nakoruru, Marco, Ryu, Chun-Li, and Mega Man. Cards have different functions, with Character Cards for fighting and Action Cards for support. There doesn’t appear to be any trailer, at least not yet, to go with the launch of SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters’ Clash on Nintendo Switch, but below we’ve included a long “let’s play” of the original release, if you’d like to better wrap your head around the gameplay. It gives off some Pok√©mon Trading Card Game for Game Boy Color vibes, except with SNK and Capcom characters tossed in, which is frankly pretty awesome.

Update: There is now an official game trailer!
