The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea returns as the most effective leaker of Nintendo Switch game news. Via Gematsu, South Korea has rated Mafia II: Definitive Edition from 2K Games for release on unspecified consoles and SNK Gals’ Fighters for release on Switch. They’re both older titles, though the latter is twice as old as the former.
SNK Gals’ Fighters is a fighting game for Neo Geo Pocket Color released in 2000, one easily forgettable entry in a massive ocean of King of Fighters titles. Nonetheless, it would make a nice companion piece to Samurai Shodown! 2, another Neo Geo Pocket Color game that came as a bonus for those who preordered Samurai Shodown on Switch.
Open-world title Mafia II meanwhile released in 2010 from 2K Games for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. A Director’s Cut with all DLC and expansions bundled in was released a year later, so Mafia II: Definitive Edition would likely be a remaster of that. While platforms are uncertain for the title, there is surely no huge technical obstacle to prevent it from coming to Switch.
When South Korea rates a game for release, that means it’s definitely coming in some form. For instance, it was their ratings board that first revealed Catherine: Full Body and XCOM 2 for Switch. So keep an eye out for official SNK Gals’ Fighters and Mafia announcements.
