Smash Ultimate’s fourth DLC fighter could be an SNK character

Smash SNK

Though Smash fans are still anxiously awaiting the launch of Banjo and Kazooie, new evidence is fueling speculation about the identity of the following downloadable character. Spotted earlier today, a Nintendo UK page for Character Pack 4 includes copyright information for the SNK Corporation. SNK is a Japanese developer known for titles such as Metal Slug and The King of Fighters, so there are a few franchises a character could come from.

Assuming the new character is indeed from SNK, there are a few choices that would work well. Given that Street Fighter has representation via Ken and Ryu, I think the most fitting choice would be a The King of Fighters character. Mai vote goes to Mai Shiranui, but Terry Bogard would be a good choice too. Of course, Nintendo could always go another direction with it instead. Maybe something from a non-fighting game such as Metal Slug?

Smash SNK

Though SNK seems like a strange company to include on the surface, there’s no doubt that they’ve contributed a lot to the games industry. In that respect, SNK would be a great developer to pick a fighter from. Would you like to see a DLC fighter from SNK? If so, who would you like to see join the Smash roster?
