Single Switch Online membership can be used across multiple consoles

Here’s some good news for those of you that own multiple Switch consoles and plan on subscribing to the new Switch Online service.

Nintendo has released a list of FAQs related to Switch Online. On the UK site, one of the questions asked is: “If I have multiple Nintendo Switch consoles, will I have to pay for each of them?” Nintendo’s answer is quite nice. Each membership is not tied to any specific console, but rather a specific Nintendo Account. So, if you’ve linked a single Nintendo Account with an active Switch Online membership to each system, then they’ll all be use the service on all of them.

┬áThe Nintendo Switch Online membership is not for one Nintendo Switch console, but for one Nintendo Account. As long as it’s linked to your Nintendo Account, you can use the Nintendo Switch Online service from any Nintendo Switch console.

On a related note, you will be unable to unlink your aforementioned Nintendo Account from your Switch User Profile as of September 18, 2018 when the firmware 6.0.0 system update is released.
