Shin Megami Tensei V release date set for November 12, trailer revealed

shin megami tensei v release date trailer atlus nintendo

All the leaks we previously reported on for Shin Megami Tensei V on Nintendo Switch have panned out, but now Nintendo and Atlus have finally released a new trailer at the Nintendo E3 Direct. Shin Megami Tensei V also has an official release date of Nov. 12, 2021. Additionally, preorders for the physical version begin next week on June 21, 2021. Check out our previous coverage for all of the major details.

In a nutshell, you will get pulled into a post-apocalyptic alternate dimension and fuse with a “mysterious figure” to gain the power to fight demons. Among other things, you can expect the usual friendly demons, but many are hostile and will attempt to destroy you. A command-based system and finding weak points come back. But you can count and increase the number of actions you can perform in a combo, which may add some slight new wrinkles on a familiar formula.

The coolest new addition to this title, however, might be that not only are there no random encounters (which was the case in Shin Megami Tensei IV), but the demons themselves are now fully visible on the world map. You also appear to be limber in jumping around to explore and evade or get the jump on enemies. Check out the Shin Megami Tensei V release date trailer to watch and enjoy all the new content.
