After a devastating shutdown on their attempt to get ‘shadow of the Eternals\’ (which is a sequel to Gamecube classic \’Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem) off the ground, Precursor Games is back at Kickstarter hoping to revive this \”spiritual successor\”. Amidst controversy for having to fire one of their founders for child pornography charges, it’s not stopping them from developing the promising supernatural horror saga.
Precursor is now seeking only $750,000, which is half of their original goal to fund the game and get it developed, tested, and ready to go for eager players by October 2014. The game is still set for both PC and Wii U, however, a PS4 version of the game has now been added as a new stretch goal. If the goal is met and the project is fully funded, then actor David Hayter (voice of Snake and Naked Snake in the Metal Gear Series) will join the project as a voice for one of the main characters.
\”Playing the role of Paul Becker will be a blast as he is both complex and conflicted. I intend to provide gamers with a provocative and memorable experience on the roller coaster ride that is the Shadow of the Eternals,\” said Hayter.
The long broken up saga of episodes has now been extinguished and in its place will be a 8 to 10 hour length adventure. One source pointed out that it was strange that following the Shadow of the Eternals Kickstarter page being taken down, Precursor Games said they had found another source, and yet now they are asking for less money for a bigger project.
Speculation aside, its full steam ahead again for ‘shadow of the Eternals\’ and their new Kickstarter page is up and running once again. To pre-order the game it will cost you $20.00 and there is already 2365 out of 3000 backers which have set themselves in stone for that. If the $20.00 pre-orders are filled then you can pay $25.00 and will still get access to a downloadable copy for the game for PC or WII U and access to a secret room called Whateley’s Secret Study which is also included in the $20.00 pre-order. The funding run goes from 7/25/13 until 8/23/15.
